Welcome to Ma Boyles!

Ma Boyles Oyster Bar was established in 1870, and now is everyone’s ‘favourite pub’ in Liverpool.   The bar is situated at the back of Tower Buildings adjacent to The Parish Church of Liverpool, St. Nicholas’ and opposite the world famous Liver Buildings.

The pub has two bars and a number of seating areas to cater for small or larger groups.  The pub is not tied to any brewery and therefore offers the widest selection of beers, wines and spirits and normally includes a choice of seven real ales.  All our drinks are very competitively priced; please see our drinks menu for further details.

Ma Boyles, the nearest pub to the new cruise and ferry facility and situated in the middle of Liverpool’s business quarter has a thriving lunch time and early evening food trade.  In addition to the standard menu there are daily specials which cater for all tastes.  All our food is home cooked and locally sourced wherever possible, some of our favourites include fresh Fleetwood Cod, Chips & mushy peas and Liverpool’s signature dish of Scouse, however there is truly a massive choice from our extensive menu. Friday’s are particularly lively as early evening entertainment is offered and we remain open until 1.30am. The pub has three large plasma screens and all major sporting events are available for viewing.  In particular Saturday’s and Sunday’s normally reflect the changing face of Liverpool as the supporters of both Everton & Liverpool football fans use the pub as their local to view their respective away games.

Ma Boyles is particularly suited to buffet style functions and has accommodated many events including events for local celebrities such as Ricky Tomlinson, Ken Dodd and Charlie Lansborough (just to mention a few!) with in excess of 100 guests for Christmas parties, birthdays, weddings and christenings.  For these events competitive catering is available with hot and cold buffets starting from £5 per head. 

The pub celebrates in style many annual events such as St. Patrick’s, Beaujolais Nouveau, Mothers day and the world famous Matthew Street Festival.  Please see our events for further details and regular updates.
